Patti Brown-Chlapowski, Owner, Co-Founder
Always engaged in the pursuit of a healthy way of life, I have continually maintained a physically active lifestyle. Softball as a kid, paddleball on the beach in my twenties, walking and biking on the trail in my thirties and forties, I have always enjoyed some sort of fitness routine. In early 2014 I took my first ever Barre class and was immediately and forever hooked. The variety and combination of just the right muscles being worked was exactly what I needed. I fell so hard for my newfound method that I instantly dreamed of having a studio of my very own. An amazing opportunity arose one year later, and Barre Central was born. I have been a lifelong resident of St. Petersburg. I’m married to the most wonderful husband, Van. I am so proud to have the most amazing, beautiful daughter on the planet, Sadie. I have been blessed with the privilege of owning and operating Accounting Solutions on St. Pete Beach for nearly 20 years and in 2015 opened the Beach Escape Game also on St. Pete Beach.
Bettering myself and others in fitness and in health has always been a priority in my life. Since childhood, I have been into skating, surfing, horseback riding, dance and any other form of adventurous activity. I was introduced to barre several years ago and loved the combination of ballet, Pilates and yoga which have improved both my core and flexibility. I have been doing barre for several years now. It became such a passion for me that I bit the bullet, quit corporate America and decided to devote myself to introducing barre as well as many other new methods of fitness to the community. By fulfilling my desire to empower, educate and surround myself with people that are trying to create a healthy mind and body. Since following my dream, doing what I love, my heart knew I wanted more. I deeply inside knew my worth and value. Multiple management opportunities began to arise and then I would receive a phone call that would change my life forever. We knew instantly we were a sisterhood of Unity and Empowerment. So began our infinite journey now known as BARRE CENTRAL….. A quick shout out to the number one person in my life, Marilyn. I love you so much! And I thank my friends and family for their continuous love and support.

Teresa Cantrell, Instructor
I’m from Lansing, Michigan and have enjoyed living in Florida for over 25 years now. I joined a gym fresh out of high school and never stopped going. So, I guess you could say I have a passion for fitness. My early decades started out with floor aerobics, step aerobics, kickboxing, and many other forms of exercise. In the late 90’s I discovered Mat Pilates and found the first method of exercise that really strengthened my core and flattened my belly. I was sold! After a couple of years taking classes my Pilates instructor pursued me to get trained and certified to become an instructor myself. I really enjoy helping other people become more comfortable in their bodies, improving their strength and flexibility while doing a form of exercise they love. I am also a certified Personal Trainer, Yoga instructor, and Pilates Reformer instructor. I discovered the Barre a little over two years ago and look forward to teaching that as well once I’ve completed my certification.

Nicola Lynch, Barre Instuctor
"I have always incorporated some form of fitness program in my life, but the older I got the harder it seemed to be. I was searching for something that would be less invasive on my joints, enjoyable and bring part of the passion I had as a young adult. I took my first barre class and was hooked, it challenged me, made me sweat, made me sore but not to the point I could not walk. Recovery time was minimal. An opportunity presented itself where I could become a certified instructor and I had no hesitations whatsoever! I love to share this method which includes not only contracting the muscles but elongating too. There is no better feeling then empowering one another. We are not perfect we come in all shapes and sizes and I cannot stress enough how important it is to love ourselves just the way we are! Barre works for all of us. This is a phenomenal tribe and look forward to meeting each and everyone of you!
Heather Holman, Yoga Instructor, Owner Bella Soul Yoga
With over 18 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Heather's passion is now to assist her clients from a more holistic healing approach. We can help heal our bodies and minds through the practice of yoga. Heather first found yoga years ago after an accident nearly took her young son's life. It was through the pranayama breath work and meditation practice that helped her deal with the PTSD she experienced from that event. To Heather the physical practice of yoga was a moving meditation that assisted her with having a peaceful mind, her practice had the added benefit of weight loss, increased flexibility and better athletic performance during paddleboarding. Seeing the benefits of yoga in her own life she choose to pursue her certification and obtain her 200 hr certificate from Full Circle Yoga in Orlando, FL. Additionally Heather has certifications as a Level 1 ACA Standup Paddle Instructor and a SUP Yoga Instructor. You can meet her on the mat and on the water. Heather believes that we are all truly connected and through practice and community we can all better our lives.
Angela Vallee, Instructor, Reggae Aerobics
Hi, my name is Angela and I recently moved back to St Petersburg, FL from California. I am an avid reggae music lover, live a very healthy lifestyle, and believe strongly in the power of positive vibrations set forth by all things reggae. I have danced since I was 12 years old and work out 5 days a week to my own curriculum of dance aerobics with a fast-paced reggae genre of music. I find that dance aerobics fully targets the muscles that women want to get into shape the fastest. It also promotes elongated toning, adding shapely results to the female figure. Dance aerobics is, in my opinion, the most fun form of cardio because it doesn't actually feel like work-out, but more like a party.
